Configure your browser for Unstoppable Domains

Chrome browser

Firefox browser

Brave browser

Opera browser

Edge browser

Android and iPhone

Once you have configured your browser as per this guide you will be able to access .crypto Unstoppable domains in 2 different ways:

  1. http://domainname.crypto note http not https
  2. domainname.crypto/ the forward slash is to override your browser’s search engine searching for the domain.

If you have the Unstoppable extension in your browser you will need to disable it to switch to DNS over https (which retains the domain name in the browser).

Chrome browser

1. Select browser settings from the menu in the top right of Chrome.

2. From the Settings menu select Privacy and security > Security > Advanced section and set Custom URL as https://resolver.unstoppable.io/dns-query

You are all set now to resolve Unstoppable domains in Chrome.

Firefox browser

1. Select browser settings from the menu in the top right of Firefox.

2. From the Settings menu select Options > General Tab > Network Settings > Settings section and set Custom URL as https://resolver.unstoppable.io/dns-query and click OK.

You are all set now to resolve Unstoppable domains in Firefox.

Brave browser

Now with native support for desktop and Android (iOS to follow)

1. Select browser settings from the menu in the top right of Brave.

2. From the Settings menu select Additional settings > Privacy and security > Security > Advanced section and set Custom URL as https://resolver.unstoppable.io/dns-query

You are all set now to resolve Unstoppable domains in Brave.

Opera browser

Opera now has native support for blockchain domains across all platforms:

Edge browser

1. Select browser settings from the menu in the top right of Edge.

2. From the Settings menu select > Privacy, search, and services > Security section and set Custom URL as https://resolver.unstoppable.io/dns-query

You are all set now to resolve Unstoppable domains in Edge.

Android and iPhone

Unstoppable domains now resolve with mobile browsers such as Chrome and Safari.

For Android follow the details for your browser as covered in the guides above.

For iPhone you will need to download this DNS profile with Safari and then install the profile from Settings > General > Profile

Screenshot below is Safari on iPhone resolving Unstoppable domains.

Brave on Kubuntu 20.04 shows Secure DNS lookups: Not available on you platform.

Thanks for letting us know. Have you been able to check a browser like Firefox with Kubuntu?

On Firefox it works!!!
On Brave I managed to put it to work by using unstoppable’s chrome plugin.

Note: Brave display Not available on your platform at chrome://flags/#dns-over-https

The instructions for Brave seems to be out of date as of Version 1.20.108 Chromium: 88.0.4324.182 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hi John,

We have just checked that specific build and Additional settings > Privacy and security > Security > Advanced still seems to be fine. Can you please email support@unstoppabledomains.com with screenshots etc, thanks.

This is awesome! I just followed these instructions and it worked great. However is this still the recommended approach? I read that .crypto was supported by Cloudflare, but using the default Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS resolver didn’t seem to work, which is why I googled and found this.

Yes this is currently the easiest way to view dweb sites on all browsers.
Native support with Opera for Android has been available for around 9 months and there will be more native support announced as we move forward, thanks.

Tried downloading the profile for safari but I get a message saying it’s corrupt and and cannot be saved.

Our team is updating the GitHub link and we will post here when it’s available.

Can you try the DNS profile again please.
