Ensure you have Contract Data set in the Ethereum app on the Ledger wallet before attempting to manage a .crypto domain with the compulsory Guest Manage (where the domain owner sets and pays the blockchain transaction costs).
If you haven’t already claimed your domain to Ledger please see this guide.
Since this guide was published the URL for Guest Manage has now changed to /manager but the screenshots show the old route of /guest-manage.
Step 1. Select Guest Manage from the menu.
Step 2. Connect your Ledger wallet by clicking the WEB3 link
Step 3. Select the .crypto tab (or .eth for ENS domains)
Step 4. Click MANAGE to the right of the domain you want to make changes to.
Step 5. Add coin addresses from our current list of supported coins. When you have finished adding the coin addresses click SAVE CHANGES. and you will be asked to confirm the change on your Ledger wallet.
Step 6. You will be asked to confirm the change in Metamask and sign the transaction on your Ledger wallet. See Step 10 for further details on signing with your Ledger wallet.
Step 7. Our interface will show the transaction is being processed on Ethereum.
Step 8. Metamask will confirm when the transaction has been processed and you can view it on Etherscan from the link in Metamask.
Step 9. You can add Whois details for the domain and mark it for sale but this should be done separately to adding coin addresses.
Step 10. You can transfer domains from the Ledger wallet by selecting the Transfer tab and entering the Ethereum wallet of the address you wish to move it to. This must be a wallet for which you have the private keys and not a crypto exchange address.
Below is part of the signing sequence on the Ledger wallet.
It’s important to note that the transfer is actually done via our smart contract address 0xD1E5b0FF1287aA9f9A268759062E4Ab08b9Dacbe so the image of Address (3/3) shows the last 10 hexadecimal characters of the smart contract, not the actual address of the wallet you are transferring the domain to.
Confirmation that the domain is sent to the correct address, via the smart contract address, is available on Etherscan as per the link for the transaction in Metamask.
Step 11. Add an IPFS hash to your domain name.
After adding the IPFS hash click the SAVE CHANGES as shown in Step 5.
