Redirect blockchain domains

Update 1st August 2020
Our browser extension available for Firefox, Chrome, Brave Opera desktop and Edge now does automatic redirects to centralized sites as covered in this article.

With Android for Opera, our browser extension or the Unstoppable Browser you can check the 3 methods shown below to redirect blockchain domains.

1. CTA (Call To Action) - TryOpera.crypto uses the Website Builder tool and offers visitors to the decentralized site a button to redirect them to another site (Google Play for Opera browser).

2. Automatic redirection - BestAutos.crypto uses a small piece of code, to automatically redirect visitors to your chosen site.

Create a file named index.html and paste the following code, edited for your specific redirection.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>HTML Meta Tag</title>
<meta http-equiv = "refresh" content = "1; url = https://www.lamborghinila.com/new-inventory/index.htm" />
</head>
<body>
<p>Lambos ....</p>
</body>
</html>

Once you have uploaded index.html to IPFS with the Pinata gateway add the hash to your domain as covered in this guide. After a few minutes your blockchain domain will be set to automatically redirect to your chosen site.

3. Using frames

The sample index.html below will allow you to use frames to display some centralized sites when a visitor types your blockchain domain into a browser (which has our extension etc). It will not work for all sites.

<html>
<frameset rows="100%,*">
<frame src="https://sample-centralized.com" />
</frameset>
</html>

If you haven’t progressed to dweb yet you can use the following links in any browser to see how the redirection works:

How can one best learn pretty much everything about domains?

Decentralized domains* that is, I have good understanding of centralized.

Please study our Feature Guide in the first instance and email support@unstoppabledomains.com if you still have questions, thanks.
